This post was actually written last Thursday, but is just now being posted...whoops!
I absoulutely love being a stay at home mom. I always new I wanted to be one, but being home now, just proves I could not imagine doing anythig else. I still nanny from time to time with the families I worked for before miss Payton came along, but for the most part I am home. I do teach 2 classes on Friday at the gym, which is nice because I get to workout and have a "ma time."
It's amazing how fast my days go by staying home. Between breast feeding and pumping, cleaning, laundry and running errands; My day flys by. Notice how I didn't say cooking... I hate cooking !!!!! It is by far the worst thing, next to having to go to the grocery store. Lucky for me, Clinton doesn't mind cooking, along with everything else he does. It is nice to have a partner that shares the work load. We never fight over who does more, because we both do our part. I love that Clinton actually likes being involved with the baby. I hear horror stories about Dads/husbands/significant others that never help with the kids because that is "the mom's job." I couldn't even deal with that type of attitude.
Another awesome thing about being able to stay home, instead of using my babysitters while I work, I get to save them for the weekends, so Clinton and I get to spend time together. Before we had Payton, I made it clear that Payton was going to add to our lives not take over our lives. Now before everyone jumps to conclusions, let me explain. Payton is now the first priority, however, before Payton (which is the best gift ever, by the way) it was me and Clinton. We had a relationship before we were mama and daddy, and I want to make sure that relationship is a priority as well. I feel it is just as important for me and Clinton to have time together alone as it is family time. The reason for this is happy mommy and daddy makes for a happy family, happy families have happy kids. And so far so good. We are only 3 1/2 months into this whole family thing and we only have one kid, so I guess ask me after the next one comes if anything has changed.
This week we have found out that Payton loves T.V! Don't judge me ... but she does love it. I think it is all the movement and bright colors. I can put her in her bouncy in front of babyfirst tv and get a good hour of cleaning or what ever else I need to get done ! It is awesome! The best part is she gets most excited when the show with ponies comes on. Already loving horses, I am a proud mama! She did also watch, "Swamp People" and "Duck Dynasty" at Ooma and Papa's last night and was throughly entertained. And right now she is sitting in my lap while I have typed this whole post, completely intrigued!
( If there is a ton of typos in this post, I am sorry, my spell check is not working for some reason.)
